American Chemical i.c.s.a. is a family-owned business established in 1961. Since the beginning it specialized in the manufacturing of two big production lines: products for the tannery market and products for the detergent and surfactant market.
It early began the export activity that immediately turned into a flow of overseas sales.
Nowadays, American Chemical is a leader in the manufacturing of the following production line of special chemicals: tannings, retannings, fatliquors and auxiliaries for the complete process of treatment of leather.
Biodegradable surfactants for the manufacturing of liquid and powdered, industrial and household detergents and personal care products.
Satisfying the technological demand of both the local and international market, and constantly serving its customers have been two of American Chemical’s major objectives. This has led the company to obtain the Award to the Greatest Export of Industrial Chemicals in Uruguay consecutively since 1995.
In the last five-year period, its exports doubled reaching more than 30 countries in five continents.
